ACRONconnect – software based telecontrol system
|
||
OverviewIn almost all sectors of automation, innovative manufacturers aim to provide open concepts in relation to their products. As a result, lots of manufacturers brought software products to market, which base on component technology. The development towards open systems reflects the users needs but reaches its limits once hardware with various interfaces and protocols come into play on the lower automation level. Particularly, in the sector of telecontrol technology, the isolated applications are extreme. The decision for a manufacturer to become a partner comes along with a considerable effort in going along with another one. Even the try to use standardised protocols often fails due to details. To solve these problems the development of the ACRONconnect software was started in 1998. ACRONconnect runs on Windows NT, 2000, XP and connects the central hardware (process control systems) with the decentral hardware (controllers). Here, the decentral running protocols are being processed by the software independent of the hardware’s manufacturer. If a plant is composed of units from different manufacturers – for example, controls of different manufacturers exists -, it is possible to simultaneously communicate with these different devices by activating the required protocol driver. Consequently, our customers are more independent in choosing applicable system components. |
